Love is patient, love is kind; love is dank and gets you high—OK, maybe not love, but Paislafarian’s Wedding Cake most certainly.

Just like any healthy matrimony, this strain is one full of contradictions. Thanks to the its density, even a small bud can be ground down into enough filling for a lekker fat joint. However, you don’t need to look twice to tell you’re in for a really potent smoke: the crystal coverage is some of the best I’ve seen, and those signature bright orange trichomes are just bristling with resin. You’d think the buds would be rather sticky, but in fact they’re bone dry and make for a clean and thorough burn every time.

The taste and aroma has its own degree of complexity. The expected cake frosting scent is present albeit faintly, and layered with a heady mix of fruity notes and tangy sourdough. A perceptive nose may also pick up on hints of mint.

Paislafarian’s Wedding Cake makes an excellent dessert, especially after a long day. It’s a powerful relaxant—so take it easy if you don’t smoke regularly—both for body and mind. As I said, it’s a strain of contradictions, so even though this is the strain of choice for a night on the couch or a very cozy sleep, you wouldn’t go wrong in using it for a boost of creativity (though you’ll have to exhibit a bit of self-control in your creative endeavour to actually stay on target). Wedding Cake is an instant mood-lifter, but with the slackening of your muscles and grey matter, this strain has the potential for strong emotional release (people do cry a lot at weddings).

Really, you can’t go wrong with these buds. Just be sure to have a slice of actual cake in your reach.
