Strain review: Baker’s Delight

Kate Bush’s debut album The Kick Inside was by far the best choice of background music while writing this review. Greeted by whale song and the lyrics “How you move me with your beauteous potency”, I suspected I was in for a good time – and boy was I right!

A voluminous nugget waited for me at the bottom of the pill bottle. It looked like it was covered in fine sugar or frost, with several bundles of lush trichomes poking out. It smelled woody; like straw or thatch, and tasted of something in-between dark chocolate and a Guinness stout. I didn’t have any information on the strain beforehand, but afterwards I learned that it was Baker’s Delight, a hybrid strain descending from the famous Girl Scout Cookies and another Kush hybrid. This explained its crisp and puffy texture, thin branches, and trichomes by the bushel; it had a quick, even burn with only the tiniest hint of harshness. The high itself was a reflection of the bud: light, airy, and crystal-clear. I can see this as a great smoke for conversations and creativity, especially.

“I got no limbs, I’m like a feather on the wind”

“I got no limbs, I’m like a feather on the wind” Kate was singing, and that sums it all up nicely (she does go on to say “I’m not sure if I want to be up here at all” – I disagree).
